Quote of the month - year!

Identification with your mind creates an opaque screen of concepts, labels, images, words, judgments, and definitions that blocks all true relationship. It comes between you and yourself, between you and your fellow man and woman, between you and nature, between you and God. It is this screen of thought that creates the illusion of separateness, the illusion that there is you and a totally separate “other.” You then forget the essential fact that, underneath the level of physical appearances and separate forms, you are one with all that is. By “forget,” I mean that you can no longer feel this oneness as self evident reality. You may believe it to be true, but you no longer know it to be true. A belief may be comforting. Only through your own experience, however, does it become liberating.

From The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

Cygnus Books offer this book at a much cheaper price than most and also further discounts on buying a few copies. You can read a further extract on this page. This info and link is simply offered in service. I have no material benefit from the link.

In willingness to join with each other, we may become aware of life at a deeper level of ourselves than we often have in our daily preoccupations.

Sharing a purpose is to share a mind. Healing the mind is to restore it to the calm clear appreciation of connectedness.

Any sense of unworthiness in self or other is an underlying obstacle to Fullness of Life Now!

Thinking - is not the way to peace where joy abides.

Sharing music and dance does shift us to a joy-based and present perspective if we bring such willingness and intent.

Clearlight Cards : Cards and prints from photos I have taken - mostly from around where I live with Cathi at Wells-next-the-Sea. We walk often in the beauty of the world.

We are surrounded by the wonderful but tend to experience our thoughts and concepts as our first environment.

To stop or still the mind that makes endless commentary or story is to awaken to the unspeakable intimacy of being. But see how the mind tends to veil the glimpse or limit it to hardly an instant before 'normal service is resumed'! It takes practice of true desire and a yielding into or allowing of the moment - just as it is - to abide in connectedness as well as through apparent disconnection.

Thus it is perhaps ironic that I should take photographs! But my intent is to yield into a process in which the 'I' is no less an instrument than the camera - and serves a presence that knows in stillness. Its a feeling thing.

We like to connect and remain connected with many who we dont have time or circumstance to write, phone or visit very often. Cards can serve to carry a vibrational greeting that is consciously felt within the relationship.

If you use cards to communicate or enjoy prints in your rooms or as gifts - I invite you to consider my work: Clearlight Cards

Our Christmas Card and message to you

We will share an extended eve at the White House in Norwich again on December 28th.

Newcastle - Dancing in the Heart (Nov 28) was a beautiful day. Thankyou to everyone involved. See the dances we shared. I have also posted some dance notes on the resource page.

We have been heavily involved with the building work and are busy - but grateful for the dance to emerge from busy currents into simply sharing peace!

I've been having a wonderful summer. Walking, swimming, writing, sharing and enjoying our builders. Enjoyed a dance weekend in Youlgreave where I was able to contribute as well as enjoy the Derby Dales. Our extension is about to have its topping off ceremony. Dancing is resuming after a summer break and is sweet.

-

I've been rather involved in clearing away the past - (my candlemaking workshop) and investing in the future (house extension with room for a small circle to dance).

-

Life is full and flowing. I havent had occasion to write here for a while.

2 new dances came recently: Kirki and Time Flows.

See HERE

Our extended Summer evening was beautiful.

We will do an extended eve again on October 15th.

Easter Monday in Norwich was truly a blessing.
I Blogged the 'audition' process in which I considered various dances for roles in Jesus' Story. The ones that were enacted were also blogged in my Danced List. But I also noticed that the process was a way of asking what are the heart qualities that these dances carry or invoke? - and feeling or intuiting qualities that can be clothed in word or poem or sketched - but remain essentially an experience of intimacy in the heart.

A new dance came through me - in my kitchen - for Prodonemi Agapi - a bright Greek song composed by Mikis Theodorakis and sung by Maria Farantouri. Having found the dance I then found the song translates as betrayed love! Yet it is sung in a spirit of freedom regained and so is the dance.

Life and dance are very well with me. I'm enjoying sharing some new to me dances learned via Folk Dance teachers but its the quality of the flow that is the joy and not necessarily the dances themselves - though of course they express the context in which they are shared.

There is now a yahoo group to share circle (and folk dance) related info. This can be wide ranging in scope and include relevant event notices. Links to sites of interest, question and answers relating to anything about the dances or the music associated with the dances.

These are open forums that can be interacted via web browser and or emails. There is no cost and the entries are archived so as to become a resource of information. See the notice about this and links on Home page

-

I am also looking at a wiki for circle and folk dance - as used in Wikipedia.

Any resource that I set up would be used by all for the benefit of all who love the dance, and offer a structure through which we may participate as we desire.

If moderation was required it would be to clean up after genuine mistakes, spammers or remind participants to be respectful in event of disagreement. This function would be shared.

I have swapped with Jane regarding Sheringham group: I will now run the 2nd Friday in each month and Jane will run the 4th Friday in each month.

Dancing the New Year in at Hempton initiated a NEW monthly group at a lovely hall.

I have made a list of dances danced and will keep this up for forthcoming dance meets.

One of these was a new dance I made to Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. I gave a few nods in it to Peter Briabers' version which I tried over the years with various groups but it didn't really take. I also love to sing this so I will midwife this or an evolution of this dance in hope to inspire the dancers to want to dance it frequently!

Our local Christmas circle was lovely. I made a dance for the Huron Carol I have written about this and some other recent dances I made in my Dance Blog

"Dancing the New Year In" on Sat Jan 3rd. a.m and p.m sessions or full day.

Dancing in the Heart at The White House next is Sunday 8th Feb.

I will be running Kate's sessions at the White House, as well as my own, until further notice.

I have created new dances to "What are they doing in Heaven today?" - which is a Be Good Tanyas version of a traditional Gospel song, and "Farewell Shallabye" by 'No Blues' - which fuses a cool blues sound with sinuous Arabic tones into Arabicana. I also made a simple but enjoyable dance to Drive the Cold Winter Away - which is a folksy Old Carol one can sing with gusto, fervour and jollity. I'd love to help it find your feet and have just put the chords and lyrics and steps onto the Resource page. If you cant sing it then the version by Horslips works well though that is instrumental and not so seasonal. (But still lovely).

So far this year we have enjoyed dancing at:

Norwich Cathedral
Singing Santo is always a privilege but wonderful in this vaulted space.

Cromer Pier on a sunny day. What a treat.

Dance Camp Wales.(After an 11 year absence).

Dance Camp North. Wonderful but wet.

Workshop with Freidel Kloke-Eibl - my comments

Easter Teacher Gathering
(I don't need my CD and step notes for Easter 2007 or 2008 - I paid £8-£9 for each set and would rather recoup something and share the value on. Ask if interested).

Youlgreave in May.

Live public dance as part of a local environmental event at Pensthorpe.

Dance days and regular groups at Norwich and Sheringham.
